Colin Campbell
Reporter
Colin Campbell is a reporter for the Emmy-award winning News2.
Colin grew up in Connecticut, and lived the other half of his life in New York.
Just before he came to Denver, he landed a job at WVIT NBC-30 in Connecticut where he was reunited with high school friends and family sometimes while out on assignment.
But when the exciting opportunity to come to Denver was presented, Colin decided to head for the hills, or mountains rather.
Colin's resume includes work as a general assignment reporter for Cablevision News 12, Long Island, New Jersey and Westchester.
He freelanced for BET Nightly News. And he started out at WBTW TV-13 in Florence, South Carolina.
In 1999, Colin graduated from Columbia University's J-School with a Master's in Journalism. His biggest story followed the fatal police shooting of unarmed African-American immigrant Amadou Diallo. He also chronicled the social issues concerning New York's transgender community.
His undergraduate alma mater is Hofstra University on Long Island where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts and Speech Rhetoric.
The Connecticut country boy says now that he's on the west side, he's ready for an adventure and all Colorado has to offer.
He loves meeting new people, jumping into new experiences, and of course, a great story.
Colin enjoys playing Capoeira, dancing and listening to Drum and Bass, jazz and hip hop. And don't be surprised if you catch him jogging in one of Colorado's many parks.
He's never been skiing, snowboarding or climbed a "fourteener." But he says, "Bring it on!"
Catch him nightly on News2 at Nine.
